Innovative, Paperless HR Solution Serving All Requirements

The Hungarian-owned Maus Ltd. started operating in 1991. The company's core activity is the wholesale trade of chilled food, including meat, meat products, milk, dairy products and deep-frozen products.
The company group works with more than 250 manufacturers and distributors in order to meet all customer needs. At its two largest sites, in Szeged and Békéscsaba, as well as at its smaller sites in Csongrád-Csanád, Békés and Bács-Kiskun counties, it provides job opportunities for more than 230 people. Their relationship with NEXON is almost 20 years old, and they entrusted us with the payroll administration tasks as an external service provider. For the year of 2021, the goal was to change the paper-based payslip to a digital payslip and to introduce a new economic unit. We asked HR manager Krisztina Forró about the experience.

Maus Ltd. has been a partner of NEXON since 2002. What considerations led you to decide on an outsourcing service instead of doing your own payroll?

In 2002, the significant increase in the number of employees necessitated organizational development and drastic changes. It was then that the HR department, the commercial department and business development were created; I also joined the company at that time. As a result of the expansions, the number of employees increased by 50 percent in a short time, from 80 to 120 people, which, among other things, demanded a much more precise and reliable payroll than before. As a result of the organizational development, we introduced shifts, we had to develop the schedules, we had to manage weekend work, fuel accounting, and we developed a new compensation/reward system. All of this went beyond payroll tasks and we were looking for an HR service provider with the widest range of functions, whose forward-looking, innovative solutions can serve all needs. This is how we chose NEXON. You could say that our NEXON partnership is as old as my career here.

What are your expectations of a payroll service provider?

The goal was to choose a reliable HR service provider that has a comprehensive service portfolio and is a pioneer in the field of HR IT solutions. Our goal has been achieved,

we have been fully satisfied for more than 20 years now.

It is my responsibility to provide concrete data to NEXON, from there everything is up to them. The fact that payroll is in good hands, without errors, is reassuring. Legislative changes are quickly followed and NEXON has a solution for everything.

You are in contact with the regional office of NEXON in Győr. What are your experiences? How is the cooperation with the office in Győr?

At the beginning of the cooperation, we were connected with the office in Kecskemét, and since a reorganization we belong to the regional office in Győr. It is especially valid during the pandemic, but we have also experienced this in the course of our joint work so far: it practically does not matter where NEXON's employees are locally, since everything is done electronically, accurately, safely and with a guarantee!
We always have a NEXON administrator with deep expertise at our disposal. During our long partnership, there were of course personnel changes, I think this is a natural and important experience, but we did not perceive the change from the customer side, the handover always went well, there were never any interruptions.

A new economic unit was created, and in 2021 the first live calculation took place. How smooth did you feel the introduction was?

The introduction and the first payroll calculation for the new economic unit took place without any errors or complications. 

The NEXON_PORT management and employee self-service system and the e-payroll function were recently introduced. What does all this mean in HR's daily work?

The December payrolls in 2021 were already sent to our employees electronically.

It is a time-saving, fast, simple, safe and trendy solution.

The time freed up by the e-payroll (e.g. time spent filling envelopes) can be used for other HR tasks. As a result of replacing the previous use of envelopes and paper, last but not least, we save the environment by using the e-payroll, which I think is an important value for both the employer and the employees.
